Techniquest Centre
Join the 2.5 million people who have visited Cardiff’s Techniquest Centre. Try the ‘check it out’ game to find out what everyday items in your rubbish can be made into or crawl through a tunnel and watch worms at work in our ‘walk in wormery’. Centre for Alternative Technology
The Centre's 40 acre site (seven acres on public display) has working examples of wind, water and solar power, energy conservation, environmentally sound buildings, self build, organic growing and alternative sewage systems. There's plenty for the kids too. There's a smallholding with many different animals, activities to explain about solar, wind and wave power, as well as many other technologies, and an adventure playground and a maze. St Fagans – House of the Future
A house built using the cutting edge of contemporary techniques stands proud in the Museum of Welsh Life devoted to Wales' past. The House makes highly efficient use of energy. By keeping the use of externally produced electricity to a minimum, it is estimated that the House is virtually self-sufficient and produces no carbon dioxide emissions. National Botanic Garden of Wales
Come and learn about Composting at the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Set in the former 18th century regency park of Middleton Hall in Carmarthenshire, the garden is situated in a 568 acre estate on the edge of the Tywi valley. The Garden enjoys a pollution free environment, spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and a rich cultural heritage.
